About DailyBookAlert
DailyBookAlert started with a simple, lifelong habit: I fall in love with characters, and I never want to let them go.
It began with the Hardy Boys. Long before I understood much about plot or prose, I was hooked on Frank and Joe — and not just the mystery in front of me, but everything around it. Who were these guys? What happened before page one? What came next, after the last chapter? I wasn't just reading a book; I was collecting a life.
That feeling never left me. It's why I've followed James Bond across Ian Fleming's original novels and the small army of continuation authors who came after, why I've tracked Jack Ryan from a young analyst all the way to the Oval Office and beyond, and why a long-running series on my shelf feels less like a stack of books and more like a friendship measured in years. The deep dive — the backstory, the throughline, the "where does this character go next" — that's the good stuff. That curiosity is the whole reason this site exists.
DailyBookAlert is the resource I always wished I had: every author and every series, in the right order, with the context that makes a character feel like someone you actually know. No more finishing a great book and wondering which one comes next — or discovering three books deep that you started in the wrong place.
Behind every book is a real person
Books have always been a family thing for me. My mother wrote and published short stories, and watching her put her own words out into the world taught me early that a book doesn't just appear — someone sits down and makes it, sentence by sentence. That respect has only grown over the years.
More recently, I had the joy of helping a good friend self-publish his first novel. Walking through that process with him — and seeing just how hard it is for a brand-new author to be found — gave me even more admiration for the writers whose work fills these pages. (You'll find his book here too. Every author deserves a shelf.)
